Surgeon Vice Admiral Sir Godfrey James Milton-Thompson, KBE (25 April 1930 – 23 September 2012) was a senior Royal Navy officer. From 1988 to 1990, he was Surgeon-General, senior medical officer of the British Armed Forces. ==Early life== Milton-Thompson was the younger son of the Revd James Milton-Thompson, a Church of England priest on the Wirral, Cheshire. He was educated at Eastbourne College before going to read Medicine at Queen's College, Cambridge (MA)〔(www.queens.cam.ac.uk )〕 and further medical study at St Thomas' Hospital (MB, BChir). He was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 1974.
